Monoprinting on Fabric

Tues 28th April 10.00 - 3.00pm

A Monoprint is a form of printmaking where the image can only be made once because

it has been treated in a unique way through the printing process. On this course you will use various materials including textured and found objects, to make, design and develop printed

images onto fabric. You will be able to experiment with counter prints, ghost printing, different inks using presses. By the end of the afternoon you will have at least 5 fabric prints to take home.

 

Course structure

 

Explanation of the techniques with examples and demonstration

Looking at initial ideas, textures and materials to use

Work with inked plates to combine and build colours on your fabric

Using overprinting and masking techniques to create layered prints

Printing using the etching presses

 

Experience Level 

Beginners and or those wishing to refresh their skills
