 Furoshiki

 Japanese fabric gift wrapping

Print your own Furoshiki (Japanese fabric gift wrapping) 1 day course

Tuesday 3 November 2020 10am - 3pm

£70 including all materials

Furoshiki are traditional Japanese wrapping cloths used to wrap gifts or carry items. They are durable, versatile and reusable - a lovely addition to your gift.

Create your own individual lino stamp shapes from soft cut lino and combine with monoprinting to build your layered fabric works of art. On this course you will use lino tools, varied textured materials to make, combine and develop printed images onto fabric pieces. By the end of the day you will have 2 Fabric Furoshiki to take home and pass on to friends or family.

Course structure • Explanation of the techniques with examples and demonstration • Looking at initial ideas, textures and materials to use • Work with Caligo Safewash inks to combine and build layered colours on your fabric
